Shadows of Eldara

Seven kings feast while their people starve, and something older stirs in the dark. Take up your father’s oath, and become a Warden of Eldara.

Free. Plays online with your friends, no install needed.

Eldara is ruled by the Golden Circle, seven kings who keep the peace between their kingdoms so they can all live off their people. Orc tribes raid the borders, dark mages walk the old roads, and the shadows are spreading. Only the Wardens, sworn keepers of the people and of Eldara’s history, still hold the line. You were raised on a farm in Thornhollow. Your father was the greatest Warden of his age, and he vanished when you were a baby. Now it’s your turn to swear the oath.

The world of Eldara

Morning in Thornhollow: villagers about the well and the smithy, the Warden and two fellow Wardens walking up the village road.

A story of oaths and secrets

Begin in Thornhollow, a farming village on the edge of the Whisperwood, and follow a trail your father left twenty years ago. Old runes are cut into the stones of Eldara, and the people you trust most may not be who they seem. Ten acts, written as one story, from a village beacon to the seat of the Golden Circle.

The white walls and gatehouse of Brinehaven, the sea capital of Marisca, townsfolk and Wardens on the road in.

Seven kingdoms, seven capitals

Walk from the green vales of Valewyn to the high passes of Highcrag, the burning Ashen Reach, the isles of Marisca, the drowned fens of Mirefold, the snows of Frosthelm and the forges of Ironvault. Every kingdom has its own capital — Kingsvale, Cragspire, Amberwell, Brinehaven, Dunmere, Hoarfrost and Anvilgate — its own people, quarrels and quests.

The square of Kingsvale, the capital of Valewyn, busy with townsfolk and guards beneath the palace.

Living kings who remember you

The rulers of the Golden Circle don’t wait for you. Every day each king holds court: they set prices and tolls, close markets, post royal bounties, send letters and spread rumours. They hear what you’ve done, think of you well or badly, and remember it the next time you stand before their throne. Ask the herald for the news — it’s never the same twice.

The Shadow of Eldara: an old grey-green town under a torn, glowing sky, the Warden's blade burning green against hollow shades.

The Shadow of Eldara

Beyond the sealed gates lies another Eldara: older, silent and grey-green, where time stands still and the moment that broke the world still hangs in the sky. Only green fire can touch what walks there. Step through, if you dare.

Four Wardens, their names over their heads, fighting orcs, goblins and an orc mage in a forest clearing.

Play together, online

Bring your friends: make a party and fight side by side through quests, dungeons and world bosses in one shared Eldara. Everyone keeps their own story and their own Warden, saved on the server, so you can pick up on any PC or browser. Or play alone, offline, whenever you like.

The Warden on a riverbank, holding a freshly caught fish up over their head.

Farm, fish, craft and ride

Between the battles there’s a life to live. Till and water your fields, raise a house on a homestead of your own, keep animals, cook at the hearth and forge your own gear. Cast a line in a quiet pond, chop, mine and gather, then saddle a horse and gallop between the kingdoms.

The Orc Chieftain's camp: Wardens fighting the chieftain and his warband around the great tusk.

Dungeons and bosses

Barrows, crypts, sunken forges, smugglers’ hulls and a drowned library, each with its puzzles, traps and a guardian at the end. Dodge-roll through telegraphed attacks, combo your sword, draw a bow or cast a spell — and when the story is done, the Deep goes down floor after floor.

A Mage at an oasis in the Ashen Reach, casting fire at soldiers of the Golden Circle, a fellow Warden beside them.

Warrior, Archer or Mage

Old Godric drills Thornhollow’s young ones in the square: learn the blade, the bow or the staff from him. Each style has its own skill tree, three skills on Q, E and R and an ultimate on F that charges as you fight — Whirlwind and Ground Slam, Power Shot and Arrow Rain, Frost Bolt, Chain Lightning and Meteor. Change your style later if it doesn’t suit you.
